Well, the weekend is nearly upon us. But before it gets here, let’s take some time to look at what’s impressed and excited the ICON Printing team over the past seven days.
Cannondale’s recent collaboration with Death Spray Custom captured the attention of our resident cycling enthusiast Alex. The bicycle brand asked the London-based artist to add a bit of razzle dazzle to the rides used by their Tour de France team and, boy, did he ever deliver! Each rider was gifted with a custom frame in Cannondale’s signature shade of green, onto which a Haida-inspired illustration of their own individual spirit animal was painted. These were referred to by many as the best looking bikes of the tour. As lovers of all bespoke things, we’re inclined to agree.
Yasmin introduced us to the work of Freytag Anderson this week. The Glaswegian design studio specialises in branding and packaging projects, and have an impressive portfolio bursting with brilliant work. There are exhibition identities and beer bottle labels in there, but we’re all especially taken with the brand identity and promotional posters they’ve created for The Fableists – a sustainable kids clothing label with a rebellious soul.
Alice was super excited to learn that American boutique Opening Ceremony have just opened a pop-up shop a stones throw from our office. The new location, next to the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, boasts an interior created by the legendary Max Lamb, a large number of collections from local designers (including a range of knitwear by Alice’s friend Helen Lawrence) and several exclusive collaborations. We can see ourselves spending many a lunch hour down there in the future.
At ICON Printing we like to share our favourite finds on our blog every week and keep up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, styles and printing news, so be sure to check back for more.
