The football lifestyle magazine MUNDIAL does much more than “just” producing a quarterly mag. With the World Cup sentiment ringing strong this summer, we thought we’d check out their merch line, which includes some screen printed t-shirts by ICON.

This caught our eye recently at Icon Printing, as we actually print onto sportswear too, if you didn’t know? So this little gem didn’t go a miss.

Inspired by the sports brand PUMA’s – “Make Football Anywhere” DIY campaign, London design studio GBH wanted to capture the “raw, passionate enthusiasm” of grass-roots football. Tape plays a pivotal role in amateur footy, from securing the nets to holding shin pads in place, so it seems appropriate that GBH has created PUMA’s new typeface out of gaffer tape.

“The start point was to order 150 rolls of tape and begin experimenting with folding, ripping and sticking it into shapes, to form a full Roman alphabet and the all-important kit numerals,” GBH’s Jason Gregory.

We are stoked that our t-shirt printing london services were used to help out Arsenal Football Club!

Along with their Charity of the Season “Centrepoint”, who list Prince William as a previous patron, Arsenal organised a fun-run around the outside of the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 19th March this year.

This was arranged to raise £500,000 to develop a state-of-the-art facility in Soho to help young homeless people get back on their feet. The Club recently dedicated its Premier League fixture against Fulham F.C towards its overall target, generating £180,000 in a single day. Anyone wishing to contribute further to the good cause can visit www.beagoonerbeagiver.org.

Icon Printing were delighted to be asked to dress Arsenal’s star winger Theo Walcott for the day with distinct custom printed t-shirts, and a vibrant “Be a Gunner, Be a Runner” logo on dark black background. See the designs on our gallery page. Unfortunately these aren’t for sale to the general public yet but we’re working on it…

Theo stated “be a Gunner, be a Runner” promises to be a great event for all the family, so I’d encourage Arsenal fans young and old and anyone who fancies getting in shape for the New Year to give the race a go! I’ve been lucky enough to see first-hand the amazing work that Centrepoint does with homeless young people, so by signing up for the fun run you are helping to make a real difference. I’m sure that with everyone’s support we can smash the fundraising target!
