London-based designer, Yinka Ilori, is inspiring our colour palettes with a vibrant, fun, Nigerian take on each piece of furniture he creates. Here are some of the pieces we’ve been admiring this week.

Ilori “upcycles” furniture, refurbishing and re-designing used pieces, in order to inform and speak of the waste culture and consumerism around Europe. Each unique piece showcases Ilori’s British-Nigerian viewpoint, as an African designer working in a design-centric European city.

Recently, Ilori worked on a project developing workshops with volunteers recovering from addiction. Used- chairs were donated and the volunteers worked alongside Ilori to ‘upcycle’ and re-design the pieces.

This is just a glimpse into Ilori’s work, check out more on his website and around London’s exhibition spaces.
